And just like that, Atari delivers again- with the 7800+!

Hey Arcaders!

Say what you want- Atari keeps rolling the hardware out!

This time- It’s a doozy.

The Atari 7800+!

Ill be doing a whole history on it soon, but this machine is the bee’s knees!

From Atari’s website-

GET YOUR PIXEL FIX LIKE IT’S 1986.

The new Atari 7800+ joins the ranks of such timeless design icons as shoulder pads, crop tops, and aviator sunglasses! Inspired by the original ‘80s design, this scaled-down version fits today’s living rooms and connects easily to modern TVs via HDMI. It supports both 2600 and 7800 game cartridges and comes with the new Wireless CX78+ Gamepad, an untethered recreation of the radical controller Atari released with the 7800 in Europe in the ‘80s. Use its two-button gaming power to journey through Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest, the brand-new cartridge sequel to Crystal Castles.

– Plays both Atari 2600 and 7800 game cartridges

– Near-perfect compatibility with original and third-party Atari games

– Includes the new Wireless CX78+ Gamepad for all of your two-button, gaming needs

– Easily connects to any screen via HDMI

– Widescreen or 4:3 viewing options for all displays

– Included cartridge Bentley Bear’s newest 7800 adventure; Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest

– USB-C charging cable (wall charging plug not included)

It retail for the same price as the 2600+: $129.99 but I kind of like this one more.

European controller that’s wireless, and the pack in game- Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest- if you haven’t played this amazing game- check this out!

This game truly spotlights what this machine is capable of- and had it come out when it was supposed to- who knows how Atari’s future would have gone. And if this game had been released back then- as the pack in? More on that later.

From Gen X Grown Up-

Wow!

What could have been.

Super excited for this one.

Keep playin’ like it’s 1981.

  1. Looks like the 7800 is getting a new lease on life. 😀

And the fact that it can play even the older cartridges from way back when will definitely be a plus for Atari fans. 😊 🤓

P.S. I think you just gave me an idea for a future stream Ray.
