June Loot Crate Unboxing!!

I have to say this months Loot Crate is one of the best ones, I’ve gotten! Which I’ve had my subscription for about a year now. I am sad to say I still haven’t won a mega crate. This months theme was Cyber! Honestly I didn’t think I would dig this one but it’s AWESOME!!!

My first look inside the box just made me squeal with glee!! I knew there was going to be some Terminator items in the box but having the box Terminator themed was awesome!!

The shirt is pretty epic this month! A Transformer/Tron mash up was fantastic. My son better love the shirt as much as I do since this month was his shirt. This was one of the first things I saw when I opened the box. It was off to a great start.

In side the Battlestar Galactica envelope is two Cylon Target posters! These are pretty awesome. These are something I feel like they are going to get a lot of use with my nerf guns! Oh yeah that is totally a thing in my house!

This is a sticker sheet from Nerd HQ! This is one of the many exclusive items in the box. I defiantly think a couple of these are going to end up on my laptop and possibly my nook. These are something that is a lot of fun even if they are just stickers.

This is a glow in the dark circuit gadget pouch. This is another exclusive item. Actually this entire crate was almost nothing but exclusive items. I have a ton of these pouches but I always find a use for them. These ones with clips are great for taking to cons!!

Future Replicant Corporate Logo patch. This patch is inspired by the sinister Biotech company that made some of our favorite movie replicants.20150626_12492320150626_124936

This is an over sized Boarderlands gaming pad. The coloring on this is fantastic. I don’t know what my son is going to do with this but he loves Boarderlands.

This is one of two exclusive Terminator items! This is a full size brain chip. This is fantastic I really like it. In case you haven’t figured it out I love Terminator! I am looking forward to the new movie and hope they don’t screw it up!

This is a half scale model of a cyborg head!! This thing is fantastic!! I mean the detailing on it is totally brilliant.

I can’t wait to get this placed in my collection!! I mean this really makes me just want to do a happy dance! Although it looks like it’s metal it is actually painted vinyl. He is a light weight but sturdy collectible.

As with every month your crate includes a pin and mini magazine. I really enjoy the magazine it has some interesting stuff in there! Next months Loot Crate theme is going to be Hero’s 2!

May Loot Crate Unboxing

I have to say this Loot Crate wasn’t bad. I known so people weren’t thrilled with this one but there were a few things I really liked! This months theme was united! I would have liked to see a bit more variety, I mean there were 3 Marvel items in the box!

This month I think I’m going to start with the shirt! Now I’m not really a Power Rangers fan but I do like the shirt! It’s pretty cool. I do like the green and white ranger mash up theme. Especially since Tommy was both Rangers!

Avengers ice cube tray was something my kitchen was in desperate need of! This is just the thing for party fun in Florida!! I also think because they are silicon I can use them to make candy as well!!

An Avengers window decal is something my car really needed!! I mean my car is a huge rolling nerd shrine! I mean its like Comic Con rolling by! I do wish this had a bit of color to it so it showed up more.

As you recall I told you this box was loaded with Marvel items! I wish there had been a bit of DC items or something else. But these are pretty cool shoe laces! I bet they will look awesome when I get new sneakers this weekend.

This was a comic inside that I know nothing at all about. I suspect this is more of a kid comic so I’m sure my grandson will like it.

There was also a copy of Mad magazine which was weird because I didn’t realize they were still in print. This was as close to DC as we were getting in this Crate.

This was great because I got some fun pins and free game play! I’m always a fan of game play! I haven’t played this one yet but it’s on my list. I personally love the pink unicorn!

I’m not sure how Rick and Morty fits in this crate! I do kinda feel like we had this crap lying around so lets throw it in there! I like the themes to a point but sometimes they either don’t make sense or  it screws up the crate.

As always you get a pin and a booklet. I always enjoy the booklets they have neat articles and interviews in it. I’m hoping for more next month sometimes I’m a bit disappointed! Although this month had some cool fun stuff I just don’t always feel like it’s worth it.

Cat Mask By KeiraCosplay Review

As you can see the masks from KeiraCosplay have a great shape to them. They aren’t just flat pieces. This masks will give your cosplay some definition. I like that they are very light weight as well. Nothing worse then a heavy mask on your face.

As you can see she takes the time to shape and form the mask so your cosplay looks great! The masks do come with an elastic cord as well. You will notice I haven’t added it yet, because I want to try it with glue first. I think it should actually work perfectly that way.

As you can see the mask will fit perfectly and it looks amazing on. Mind you it needs to be secured, but it still looks great. The prices are also really good for the quality you receive.  There are several different styles you can choose from for $12 each. Sometimes it’s just easier to buy the pieces you need for your cosplay. I would definitely recommend KeiraCosplay for you mask needs!

Mattel to Launch Company’s First Action Figures for Girls

Unprecedented Initiative to Include Digital Content, TV Specials, Made-For-Videos,
Publishing, Toys, Apparel and Other Products

Random House Children’s Books to be Master Publishing Partner
The LEGO Group to be Exclusive Construction Partner

Beginning in Fall 2015, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel join forces to launch DC Super Hero Girls, an exciting new universe of Super Heroic storytelling that helps build character and confidence, and empowers girls to discover their true potential.  Featuring DC Comics’ most powerful and diverse line-up of female characters as relatable teens, DC Super Hero Girls will play out across multiple entertainment content platforms and product categories to create an immersive world.

Developed for girls aged 6-12, DC Super Hero Girls centers on the female Super Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC Comics universe during their formative years—prior to discovering their full super power potential. Featuring a completely new artistic style and aesthetic, DC Comics’ icons such as Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumble Bee, Poison Ivy, Katana and many more make their unprecedented teenaged introduction. Each character has her own storyline that explores what teen life is like as a Super Hero, including discovering her unique abilities, nurturing her remarkable powers and mastering the fundamentals of being a hero.

“DC Entertainment is home to the most iconic and well-known Super Heroes including Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl,” said Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment. “DC Super Hero Girls represents the embodiment of our long-term strategy to harness the power of our diverse female characters.  I am so pleased that we are able to offer relatable and strong role models in a unique way, just for girls.”

The initial launch of DC Super Hero Girls in Fall 2015 will include an immersive digital experience, original digital content and digital publishing—providing opportunities for girls to interact with characters, learn about the storylines, and engage in customizable play.  TV specials, made-for-videos, toys, apparel, books and other product categories will begin to rollout in 2016.

“Developing a Super Hero franchise exclusively for girls that includes all of the key components of a comprehensive entertainment experience—from content to consumer products—is something we are excited to be doing in conjunction with our great partners,” said Brad Globe, President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products.   “It’s really an honor to be part of this cultural moment and to be delivering a concept so rooted in a relatable and empowered theme that the characters of DC Comics are uniquely able to present.”

As master toy licensee, Mattel is collaborating with DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Consumer Products on DC Super Hero Girls’ narrative creation, interactive digital activations and ultimately a toy line launching in 2016.  Mattel category-leading firsts include a line of characters for the action figure category, an area of the industry that has been primarily developed with boys in mind, and fashion dolls featuring strong, athletic bodies that stand on their own in heroic poses.

“Partnering with the best and being the best partner is of paramount importance,” said Richard Dickson, President, Chief Operating Officer, Mattel.  “Together with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, the DC Super Hero Girls franchise will further expand our already powerful girls portfolio. We know Super Hero is a culturally relevant theme and the DC Super Hero Girls franchise will engage and inspire girls, providing cues to explore heroic acts through play and into real life.”

The Random House Books for Young Readers imprint of Random House Children’s Books has been appointed the master publishing partner for the franchise and will be creating a portfolio of books that will bring the DC Super Hero Girls world to life, beginning in Spring 2016.  Random House’s publishing program will be complemented by a series of original graphic novels from DC Entertainment.  The LEGO Group will also be key to building the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, leveraging their experience and success engaging girls in creative construction play to bolster this universe through an array of LEGO® building sets designed to inspire girls’ imaginations.  Additionally, consumer products partners around the world will be engaged in creating a merchandise line dedicated to DC Super Hero Girls across all key categories.

April GeekFuel Box Unveiling

ravengeek copy

Just like every month if you haven’t gotten your box of awesomeness yet there will be spoilers ahead.

As always I try to start with a photo that isn’t really going to spoil much for you. This months theme is a Heroes theme. Which is awesome, because it gives you a bit of a broad range they can work with. The box isn’t locked into a theme that doesn’t offer a lot of wiggle room.

As with most months GeekFuel offers its subscribers a digital item. This month its the full Kingdom Wars game for download. Since the box just came in yesterday I haven’t gotten to play it but I look forward to downloading it. This is one of the things I love about GeekFuel is I get to try out a bunch of new games or I get free special addition booster packs for what I’m already playing.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I love getting some candy in my box. I don’t look at it as anything but extra filler. To me it’s not really a main part of the box but this month I got Jelly Belly’s and Candy Sticks!! Yummmmm!!!

I was excited over this because I had never seen these before. From what I could learn on the Scribblenauts website, this game is available for PC, WII U, and Nintendo 3DS. There also seems to be books as well. This is about a kid named Maxwell who is trying to restore justice. These figures don’t appear to be anything more then figures based on the game. They aren’t like the Skylander figures.

I got Hal Jordan or the Green Lantern. Which I must confess isn’t one of my favorite DC characters but at least it’s not Superman! He is very cute though and I think he is a good addition to my book shelves.

As you can see he looks good from every angle. The green on his outfit is also a vibrant green so he stands out he isn’t washed out looking. As you can see he isn’t very big either he is about an inch and a half tall. So these are defiantly something you could have on your desk at work that wont be a huge stand out piece.

Our younger readers might not get this mug but for all the children of the 80’s this is an amazing mash up!!

That’s right it’s an Avengers and Breakfast Club mash up mug!! The Breakstuff Club mug is just awesome! I would love to say I drank some coffee out of it this morning but my son saw it and that was the last I saw of it. I would be mad but for him to get it means I get a win in parenting!! The mug it’s self is a nice heavy mug so it’s not one of those cheapy ones.

Of course there is a shirt! Ninja Turtles and Avengers mash up? Heck yes!! This shit is great for several reasons the first one being the fact that it’s not black or navy blue!!

I love the details in this shirt you can tell the designer put some thought into which Turtle should be which Avenger. The coloring on the graphics give it more of the old school comic look which is perfect for this shirt.

I also like the Black Widow and April O’Neil mash up. It makes me very happy that they included her on the shirt. I’m glad that they are starting to move the girls a little bit more to the for front even though I think they need to so a female super hero movie but I don’t think it should be a Black Widow movie! I think it needs to be Wonder Women or Ms. Marvel!
