Ubernerd’s Gaming Backlog Review – An Introduction

Imagine this: you’re enjoying an amazing video game, everything is going great, and then suddenly, an incredible sale appears with eye-popping deals on games you’ve been wanting to play. Before you know it, you’ve purchased three games and added them to your library. Then, your favorite video game company announces seven triple-A titles that you simply can’t miss. The excitement is too hard to resist, and before long, you find yourself pre-ordering every last one of them!

Slowly but surely, you’ve built a library of video games that you haven’t finished or even started. This scenario happens to many of us, whether you’re a PC gamer, a console player, or both. One common thread among most gamers is having a backlog of games. For many, this seems to be as inevitable as Thanos himself.

Why This Series?

I, too, have a backlog of games, but I’ve decided to do something about it. I’m going to play them and review them right here on this website. Each month, I’ll cross another game off my list and share my thoughts in a short review.

These games could be new or old, indie or mainstream, just whatever I’m feeling at the time. The only rule? I must finish the story, that’s it. I’m not a completionist and won’t be trying to finish the game 100%. My goal is simply to experience the story and get a good perspective on the game.

What to Expect

In each review, I’ll share:

  • My honest opinion of the game
  • Any personal stories or reactions I had while playing
  • A visual update showing where I am on my list and what’s coming next

Just a heads-up: the list may change from time to time. I might add or remove games depending on how things go, but the mission remains the same: chip away at the backlog, one video game at a time.

Join the Journey

While I’m working through my list, feel free to jump into the comments. Share your backlog, recommend titles, or let me know what you thought of the games I’m playing. I’d love to hear from fellow gamers who are also trying to tame their collection.
