The late 1980’s were a time of many changes on the home arcade horizon… here in the states… the NES was riding the crest of it’s popularity… Mario, Link, and Samus were taking us to whole other worlds. And in the background… Nintendo was working on the Super Nintendo. The Sega Mastersystem was slowly being phased out for the 16 bit Genesis.
But there was system on the horizon… NEC and Hudson were working on a machine that would challenge what arcade at home could be… The Turbographix 16!
With unique specialty 16 bit co possessors, a killer sound chip, games on credit card sized cartridges, and so much more… why did it fail? But it’s aftermarket success makes up for it… in its loyal fanbase who love its diverse selection of games!
Join me for my memories with this awesome machine and the arcade games it has… because its all arcade game goodness!
While were at it, let’s take a look at the excellent arcade ports on the Turbo! Thanks to Sega lord X for the reviews!
and here is 1 HOUR of Turbo/PC Engine music! Totally awesome stuff!
Keep Playin Like It’s 1981!
