It’s the kids that rule in Super Burgertime!

Hey Arcaders!

Peter Pepper is back! And he brought his kids!

You are Peter Pepper Jr., son of legendary chef Peter Pepper from the classic arcade game BurgerTime. In this new adventure, you and your twin brother Pete Pepper Jr. (in two-player mode) must outmaneuver and outwit enemies while cooking delicious burgers.

Peter Jr and Pete run through each level combining the giant burger pieces together, but unlike your dad, you can’t walk over the parts- you’re just a tike! So- Jump on em’! But watch out-  Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Egg and the dangerous Mr. Pickle are back- they brought a lot of friends who will try to stop you. Arm yourself with offensive weapons like the pepper cellar, frying pans, or defensive items like a cape to help you defeat your enemies, level bosses, and make your way to the final boss- the Barron Von Sundae!

Sadly this game saw a very limited production run in the US- as a conversion kit. About 10 years later It was released on the Arcade Legends cabinet! We had one of these bad boys at DisneyQuest!

Let’s look at the gameplay!

Nowadays- we can play this classic on the amazing Johnny Turbo’s Arcade! Give this one a go- It’s a great two player game!

So- have you ever played Super Burgertime?

I love the game as a whole- but it’s the boss battles where it truly shines! most games did this- games like Bubble Bobble, Snow Bros, Tumblepop (a game we will talk about SOON)- usually every 10th round. The best part- YOU THROW THE BURGERS YOU HAVE MADE! It gives the game more challenge- keeping you coming back for more!

Keep Playin Like It’s 1981!

  1. This game definitely caught my attention back during the DisneyQuest days, that’s for sure. While the original Burger Time is still my favorite, this one definitely stood out. Having played BT Deluxe on the Game Boy app I can see how the developers took everything they learned from the original arcade and the handheld game and applied it to Super. It’s surprising that for a limited run here in the states I would have thought the game would have had a longer one.

Still, it is a true classic alongside the original. And having played Super myself I can say it is every bit as difficult yet a lot of fun at the same time. 🙂😀
