If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire… Bad Dudes!

Hey Arcaders!

Were up to 1988- and one the big hits that year is one of the best side scrolling beat em’ ups ever…

BAD DUDES VS. DRAGONINJA!

The game is set in Washington, D.C., United States, where President Ronnie (based on 40th President Ronald Reagan) has been abducted by the evil Dragon Ninja. The game’s intro begins with the following introduction: “Rampant ninja related crimes these days … Whitehouse is not the exception”. A Secret Service agent speaks to the titular “Bad Dudes”, a tough and heroic duo of street-smart brawlers named Blade and Striker: “President Ronnie has been kidnapped by the ninjas. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue Ronnie?”

“Urgent order!!
The president has been kidnapped by the unknown enemy “DRAGONNINJA” and his gang!
They are a suspicious ninja army.
Carry out the president Ronnie’s rescue operation as soon as possible!
We wish you a successful mission!”

Eliminate all the ninjas. But watch out for the red ninjas- they carry weapons and cans of soda for power!

Our friend from a couple of games ago make an appearance- KARNOV! But he’s an enemy this time- so watch out!

Let’s check out some gameplay!

The were plenty of ports of Bad Dudes on most systems and PCs of the time- check em’ out!

For modern players- there’s a great selection of ways to play Bad Dudes. MyArcade had a Gamestation wireless player with Bad Dudes included, as well as a Micro player with the NES version. Of course, there is  Johnny Turbo’s awesome arcade port on the Nintendo Switch!

Of course, Arcade 1UP mad a Burgertime cabinet with the arcade version of Bad Dudes included!

So- have you played Bad Dudes VS Dragoninja?

This is one of my favorites- Just beware of the multi-ninja. With his duplicate magic he’s almost unstoppable!

Keep Playin’ Like It’s 1981!

  1. Now that’s a spotlight on on a pretty cool Arcade!

And having played it, it definitely stands out from the other Arcade beat-em-ups of that time.
