A Dragon’s Lair Music Video!

Hey Arcaders!

There have been a couple of Dragon’s Lair songs out there-

The first one I remember was back in 1994- Koto’s “Dragon’s Legend”. It’s a good song. I’ve played it a few times on this website! It uses some samples of the game, as well as some interesting interaction with the machine. Good song.

Then, in 2002, we got “He’s My Guy” sung buy Julie Eisenhower. She was the actress who voiced Daphne in the great Dragon’s Lair 3D game of the same year. Good song.

But- there is one song- in my opinion, that exemplified the game’s premise when I was playing. And that song is- “Running with the Night” by Lionel Ritchie. I mean- the title alone gives that away. But it’s more than that. It’s the tempo, the beat, The guitar riffs (which were provided by  Steve Lukather, best known as a member of the rock band Toto.)  The song and the game go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

So here it is-

the world premiere video of Dragon’s Lair- But with “Running With The Night” playing as an instrumental. And it don’t get more 1983 than that.

Keep Playin Like It’s 1981!

  1. I did not know this! Thanks a lot! The first video has a 90s dance feel, yet it doesn’t take away from the original game. 😀

(I’m surprised it wasn’t used as an ad for the Sega CD version of Dragon’s Lair)

    1. Also, the video “He’s my guy” and the video playthrough with “Running with the Night” I love the song, but I never thought it could be used for the game in that way, and it works! 😎 🎶
