“Part of the journey is the end.”
In 2016 an animated series came out on Netflix that was a reboot of a beloved animated classic from the 1980s. However, as audiences watched the episodes it became clear very quickly that this series was more than just a reboot. And the fact that the producers had worked on “Avatar: The Last Airbender” as well as “Legend of Korra” only meant that the storytelling was going to be high-quality. Plus putting the series on Netflix only makes it more accessible given the nature of binge-watching these days.
And now as we reach the end of the year the trailer for the eighth and final season has arrived. While Seasons 6 and 7 were very emotional, I have a feeling we haven’t seen anything yet!
To say that Stanley Martin Lieber – a.k.a. Stan “The Man” Lee was a legend would be an understatement. The man’s impact on the world of not just comic books, or pop culture, but the world itself is not something one can begin to measure. And the impact the man’s work had on my own life – namely his co-creation Spider-Man – there’s just no words.
And of course, my personal favorite scene from my top favorite animated series.
RIP Stan Lee, and thank you for not just allowing us to escape, but for reinventing what a superhero is and should be, and for teaching us all real life lessons through your co-creations, from responsibility to self-acceptance and self-forgiveness and never give up on doing the right thing.
To Arcaders all over: Happy Halloween!
To celebrate Halloween here’s a track from a now beloved classic game.
And of course, Happy Halloween Arcaders!
So it is finally official. Today is now Power Rangers Day!
And to celebrate, here’s some clips that definitely helped make this series memorable.
Hello and salutations gamers! My name is furphinatrix and I’m here to introduce you to a different type of gaming that maybe you have heard of but aren’t familiar with. These types of games don’t require a TV, monitor, gaming console, PC, or controllers, although some of the games have an electronic version also. You can use paper and pencil or a cell phone or tablet to keep track of your stats, depending on the game. I’m talking about tabletop games! (And I don’t mean Monopoly, Clue, or The Game of Life.) Tabletop games come in many shapes, sizes, genres, and difficulty. There are games for beginner, intermediate, and expert gamers, as well as games for children and adults.
My name is furphinatrix (or Shanna to the real world) and I have been playing video games and board games since I was a child. Some of the oldest memories I have of playing games are Candyland with my family, Pitfall on the Atari, and Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis. I have only been playing tabletop games for a couple of years, so it’s a relatively new adventure. I have some experience in RPG (role playing game) games like Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons. Here are a few popular tabletop games:
• Dungeons and Dragons
• Ticket to Ride
• Zombie Dice
• Star Wars X-Wing
• Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge
• Settlers of Catan
I’m usually the designated cleric healer of our group. Clerics are capable of physical combat and use divine magic to heal creatures and can use magic to attack.
I wanted to keep this article short as an introduction to tabletop games and myself. Be on the lookout for my next article hopefully next month!
If you’re recharging your batteries Arcaders, you may want to cut your rest time short, because the trailer for Season 7 of “Voltron: Legendary Defender” is here!
I’ll admit, the gap between Seasons is a little short this time around, but nevertheless, the trailer more than delivers regardless!
Grab your lightsabers and blasters, and get ready to suit up in your Jedi-Robes and Phase-2 Armor Arcaders, for after years of speculating, and seeing only a few animatics to sate our curiosity, we finally at long last get a season trailer to a series left canceled yet not forgotten, and most importantly, not yet completed.
