The Electric Circus Episode #6- Goin’ to Krum’s World!

Electric Circus New Logo copy

Hey Arcaders! The UberNerd and I had the chance to go LIVE to KRUM’S WORLD COMICS AND COLLECTABLES in Winter Garden! It’s an amazing NEW comic book shop and we were there for the Empire’s Appreciation Day, celebrating both Star Wars and Star Trek. We met ALOT great cosplayers and more! We wanna thank the gang at Krum’s World Comics and Collectables http://www.krumscomics.com for having us in and giving all of us nerds a new place to get our geek on!

Other BIG news is our newest author and AWESOME artist on the site- SheepyDoodle!  She’s a talented artist- go see some of her amazing work on her Instagram site https://instagram.com/shelbydenhamart/ Check her out- She’s amazing!

..And speaking of Donkey Kong 3-

This is the infamous “Stanley Bugman” episode of Saturday Supercade!

I love Saturday Supercade, but 2 things-

  1. Stanley sounds like an OLD MAN! He’s obviously younger than Mario!
  2. Whats with the disproportionately huge head in some shots?

Let’s give Stanley some respect!  Enjoy the show!

Thats Incredible Video Game Tournament!

Hey gang!

This is the one- That’s Incredible Video Game Tournament featuring Ben Gold, Darren Olsen, and Todd Walker competing decathlon style on Cosmos (50,000), Burgertime (8,000), Millipede (90,000) , Donkey Kong jr. (30,000), and Buck Rogers and the Planet of Zoom (20,000) Im not going to tell you who wins.

Thanks again Ben, Darren, and Todd- This is amazing to watch! And I’m honored to put this up for everyone to see.

Thanks to Ben Gold for posting these on Youtube.

The Bishop Of Battle!

The Bishop Of Battle was from a anthology movie from the 1980s that few people remember- Nightmares. the movie was good, but this story is the best one.

It stars a young Emilio Estevez as competitive gamer JJ Cooney, who is so obsessed with this one particular game “Bishop Of Battle” it consumes him… literally! There’s a group of guys over at Rouge Synapse (http://www.roguesynapse.com/)  who are trying to create this game for real! I cant give enough props out to Rouge Synapse – they have done some amazing work- check their site out! Anyhoo, on with the show- Enjoy!

This is a movie that needs a DVD release!

Video Game Challenge Pilot Episode 1983!

vid ch

I couldn’t wait to post this when I found it! This is a pilot for a show called The Video Game Challenge. It would had come out about the same time as Starcade was just getting syndicated on TBS in 1983. The beginning of the program was also shown during the Ben Gold interview in the movie Chasing Ghosts (RELEASE IT ON DVD ALREADY!)  What makes this episode even more special is that Ben Gold ( Champion Arcade game player on Stargate, Centipede,  and Millipede)  and Eric Ginner ( Champion Arcade game player on Moon Patrol, Centipede and Crystal Castles) Are on to compete on Millipede! Ben Gold wins and gets the Millipede machine and still has it  (or at least up to filming Chasing Ghosts.)  Its a three parter, but very informative! It’s not just game competition, but top 10 games lists, previews of upcoming games, and reviews, (Teen idol Bobby Sherman is the  host, and “The Real Don Steele” as play by play announcer!)  Enjoy!

This video is from Ben Gold’s channel over on Youtube. Be sure to go over and check out his win on “Thats Incredible”.

Great stuff, man!

We here at the Arcade Archives admire your amazing high scores and everyone who can play at that level as well!
