Hey Arcaders!
If you’re my age (or older) you probably remember the “book and record” sets they would sell at stores (and schools had them as well).
If you remember these- It was going to be a fun afternoon after getting one at the department store or record shop. Plop the record on your player (or put the cassette in the tape deck), open the book- as you read on and looking at the artwork… you were transported to whatever world they were telling you about. And don’t forget- to turn the page when you hear the tone! It was a special thing that in today’s media savvy world wouldn’t look at twice. But trust me- it was magical!
Which brings me to todays Donkey Kong Memory- The Donkey Kong story album from 1983!
And thanks to the miracle of the interwebs- WE CAN LISTEN TO IT RIGHT NOW!
So- what did you think? They changed the story- but it’s a fun little adventure. and to a kid in 1983- it was awesome! let me know in the comments!
Keep Playin’ Like It’s 1981!
