Hey Arcaders!
In the pantheon of all arcade games- few can hold the title of a game that defined a genre of gaming- before there was a word for it. As Pac- Man did the year before for the maze chase- Donkey Kong defined the platformer. The game also defined a companies direction, and the game’s protagonist- Jumpman- became Mario, and would lead the fledgling video game company to so much success for decades to come. And now, at the 40th anniversary, I thought it would be fun to talk about our favorite Donkey Kong memories! when did we first see the original game (or any of it’s sequels or ports) and what was our favorite?
