Super Nintendo World opened to guests this week to tremendous fanfare! And we’re going to talk more about the park soon, but the first guests all noticed… something. A door. with some familiar colors… as the walkway turned from brick to grassland… and vines… and jungle trees… what could it be?
I think we ALL KNOW what it could be…
That’s right- DONKEY KONG COUNTRY!
Let’s take a look at some leaked artwork of the new land-
If you look at the left hand corner, it looks like the entrance wall where the warp pipe would come through. The image shows a new world themed on the more modern Retro Studios Donkey Kong Country games, which is dominated by Mine Cart Madness, a mine cart rollercoaster ride. DK’s treehouse could be a snack bar, and Funky Kong’s sea plane could be a souvenir shop. Or vice versa.
Kremling Kampaigner over on Twitter also found another clue-
Also did YAMA-
The “mystery door” leads to an empty lot… under construction. The lot size and shape looks just the right size for a certain big gorilla’s jungle.
And given that this year is the 40th anniversary of the big guy, all clues indicate that Super Nintendo Land could be “Going Ape” very soon!
So what do you think? Would you be happy to see Donkey Kong Country at a Universal theme park? I know I am! Let me know in the comments!
Keep Playin’ Like It’s 1981!
