We’re Getting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge- And It’s 1989 All Over Again!!!

Hey Arcaders!

This is AWESOME NEWS for TMNT fans!

There’s a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game coming soon… That’s strikingly familiar. Just watch the video- You’ll see what I mean!

Here’s the synopsis-

With Bebop and Rocksteady amassing gizmos to support Krang and Shredder’s latest scheme, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finds the turtles battling through a breathless tour of iconic TMNT locations to thwart their nemeses’ most diabolical plan yet. Armed with shell-shocking new abilities built on a foundation of classic brawling mechanics, the gang are in for an exhilarating, Foot Clan-stomping romp leading them through the sewers and bustling boroughs of New York City all the way to Dimension X.

The game is being made by the same team behind Streets of Rage 4, one of the most recent classics of the genre. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge was announced by publisher Dotemu, with a retro inspired trailer that plays homage both to the classic TMNT animated show as to some of the first games in the franchise.

I am so stoked about this! First- the game is using the ORIGINAL cartoon character designs!

Second is the game itself- It seems to be using a lot of the sounds from the two arcade games- as well as some of the familiar game elements- throwing the foot at the screen is as sweet now as it was in 1990!

Even the classic theme song is retooled and sung by Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle fame.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is bound for unspecified consoles and PC platforms. Dotemu and Tribute Games did not announce a release date.

What do you think? I know I can’t wait for this one! Let me know in the comments!

Keep Playin’ Like It’s 1981!
