The Battle of the Video Games!
This jem was televised in 1983- Happy Days Anson Williams and Jane Kennedy Hosed this amazing piece of arcade (and 80’s) history at Magic Mountain! They even tour the Bally/Midway plant!

Gameplay
The match was played with four video arcade games. In each round, one celebrity from each team selected by a random draw, played the round’s game. The goal is to score as many points from that game as they can. They can play for as many lives as they’re allowed on that game. Once a player runs out of lives, s/he’s out of the round. Once all four players were out or when the last remaining player achieves enough to win the round or already has enough, the player with the most video game points wins the round.
In the first three rounds, the teams scored points based on how they finished and here’s how they scored:
- 1st Place – 10 points
- 2nd Place – 5 points
- 3rd Place – 3 points
- 4th Place – 1 point
The two highest scoring teams went on the play the fourth and final round for the championship.

Payoffs-
Here are the payoffs for the teams based how they finished in the tournament:

- 2nd Prize – $2,500
- 3rd Prize – $1,500
- 4th Prize – $1,000
Grand Total: $10,000
In addition to winning money for their charities, winners of the first three rounds also won their own video arcade game!
